Last week, EU4Dual convened industry leaders, innovators, researchers, and professionals from around the globe to discuss Greener Visions and Brighter Futures for learners worldwide at Mondragon Unibertsitatea in San Sebastian and the ESTIA Institute of Technology in Bidart.
With thought-provoking roundtable discussions, poster presentations, impactful keynote addresses, and presentations showcasing ongoing research, the event provided a wealth of insights into the future of fostering sustainable learning environments for universities, educators, and students.
The educational system is an evolving construct that necessitates continual updates to align with the dynamic environment. A key theme that emerged from the conference is that sustainability has become central to numerous ideologies aimed at enhancing our environment and fostering the development of concepts that facilitate the learning experience, particularly through the integration of technology.

During this conference, we had the privilege of presenting our innovative work, illustrating how it will significantly enhance the educational system for future nurses. Our presentation highlighted the transformative potential of our approach, which not only addresses the current challenges faced in nursing education but also aligns with the evolving needs of the healthcare industry. Furthermore, we elaborated on how the integration of virtual reality (VR) technology will facilitate the creation of a sustainable learning environment, requiring only a VR headset as equipment. This innovative solution eliminates the need for physical materials, thereby reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices.
We received favourable remarks from numerous esteemed attendees, who expressed genuine interest in our concepts and objectives, recognising their potential to revolutionise nursing education and improve patient care. The engaging discussions that followed our presentation further underscored the relevance and importance of our work in shaping the future of healthcare training.
It was an honour to have the opportunity to present our research, establish numerous connections, and attend insightful presentations. Such conferences are significant as they bring together like-minded individuals who engage in discussions and exchange ideas, thereby enhancing their respective research endeavors. This event not only broadened our perspectives but also motivated us to continue developing and refining our product, ensuring its implementation and ultimately elevating the experiences of future nurses.
